Last week, metallurgical enterprises left purchase prices for scrap metal practically unchanged at the level of UAH 9000/mt. The average price of raw materials decreased by 50 UAH/mt due to a decrease in the purchase price by Interpipe to UAH 8.55 thousand.

Despite the expectations of continued growth in scrap prices on international markets, the cost indicators of metallurgical raw materials went down – from $480 to $440 per ton.

2020 was the year of continued decline in the main indicators of the scrap collection industry. Nevertheless, the second half of it brought a certain improvement in the situation due to the fact that it turned out to be very successful for metallurgy.

Weekly review January 8 – 1518.01.2021
In the first week of the New Year, scrap prices increased by UAH 1,700/mt to UAH 9050/mt. Last week (January 8 – 15) the rise in domestic scrap prices has stalled.
