At the end of 2020, the growth of domestic scrap prices has stopped. Last week (December 18 – 25), metallurgical enterprises left purchase prices unchanged at UAH 7350/mt.

Last week (December 11–18) the price rally in the ferrous scrap metal market continued. In the Turkish market, the price range for HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap was already $430-440/mt CIF.

Last week, metallurgical enterprises increased purchase prices for ferrous scrap by another UAH 450/mt – up to UAH 7350/mt. Rising prices for raw materials on the world market and improving market conditions are forcing metallurgists to buy more expensive.

World ferrous scrap prices are approaching to $400 per ton14.12.2020
Last week (December 4-11), ferrous scrap quotations rose in all regional markets due to the rise in prices for finished rolled products, as well as active replenishment of stocks by Turkish factories. The average cost of HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap in the Turkish market was $380-390/mt CIF.
