High world scrap prices led to significant local growth in the domestic market in January. Scrap collection increased by 61.7%, to 318 thousand tons, export - 6.7 times, to 19.2 thousand tons.

Last week, metallurgical enterprises in two stages reduced purchase prices for scrap metal by an aggregate of UAH 1,040 to UAH 7,500/t.

Over the past week (January 29 - February 5), scrap prices continued to decline. Last week the price range was $390-410/mt CIF Turkey. 

Last week, the average price for scrap metal decreased by 600 UAH –  to 8.46 thousand UAH per ton

Over the past week (January 22-29), ferrous scrap metal quotations were rapidly declining in all markets. The price range in the Turkish market has shifted to $400-410/mt CIF from $435/mt at the previous week.
