In the coming weeks, ferrous scrap prices will rise slightly due to replenishment of stocks by Turkish metallurgists, as well as strong demand for raw materials in the US domestic market. 

The decrease in the level of the needs of metallurgical plants for ferrous scrap from 95% to 89% and the remains of raw materials in warehouses led to an increase in the average purchase price to UAH  6351 / ton, which is 551 UAH higher than the previous week.

Last week (September 3-10), the purchase prices for ferrous scrap of metallurgical enterprises remained unchanged - 5800 UAH/mt. Ferrous scrap supplies to factories fell to 57.6 thousand tons, or 3.2% less than a week earlier.

After the adoption of the law on clealirifying the ferrous scrap market, the NBU will allow the hand over the scrap for cash. Previously, there was such a ban, but it was violated almost everywhere.

The situation on the ferrous scrap market had improved by the beginning of September - the price of HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap increased to $300/mt. For the first half of the month analysts predict the same trend.
