  • The domestic scrap market showed a decline in September

    In September, the monthly dynamics of the main indicators of the scrap collection industry deteriorated sharply: the reduction of scrap collection amounted to 9.7% – to 372.7 thousand tons, the supply of scrap metal to metallurgical enterprises decreased by 3.2% – to 308.1 thousand tons. 

  • Analysts predict scrap prices in October in the range of $430-450/mt

    In October, export quotations of scrap metal will generally vary in a wide price range. Exporters' attempts to increase prices are unlikely to be successful, as demand for long products will decline. The forecast range of prices for scrap in October is $430–450/mt CIF.

  • Weekly review September 24 – October 1

    Last week (September 24 – October 1), metallurgical enterprises kept their purchase prices at the level of UAH 8,000/mt. Scrap deliveries to metallurgical plants (September 23–29) decreased to 61.4 thousand tons. 

  • The volume of exports of scrap from Ukraine in August fell sharply

    The August decline in prices for scrap metal on world markets led to the fact that the dynamics of export of raw materials from Ukraine in August for the first time since February of this year began to decline. The decrease in external supplies last month amounted to 27% – to 76 thousand tons. At the end of August, scrap collectors showed record figures since the beginning of the year for scrap collection (412.5 thousand tons) and deliveries to metallurgical plants (318.2 thousand tons).

  • Analysts have named the reasons for the rise in scrap prices in September

    Last week (August 27 – September 3), scrap prices remained unchanged at $440-450/mt CIF. In the first half of September, export quotations for scrap metal will fluctuate in a wide price range.
