  • Scrap metal quotes in world markets are gradually decreasing

    Last week (July 23-30), scrap metal quotations were gradually decreasing in all directions. The operating price range in the Turkish market was $470-480/mt CIF for scrap HMS 1&2 (80:20) against the background of $480-490/mt in the period July 17-23.

    Last week (July 23 – 30), metallurgical enterprises increased purchase prices by UAH 800 to UAH 9600/mt. Remains of scrap in the warehouses of metallurgical plants decreased to 190 thousand tons. 

  • Scrap prices on the Turkish market are in the range of $480-490/mt

    Last week (July 17-23), scrap steel quotes resumed their decline amid weak demand for rebar and wire rod in the world market, as well as strong supply from American and European suppliers. The operating price range in the Turkish market was $480-490/mt CIF for HMS 1&2 scrap (80:20).

  • A ban on the export of scrap metal will destroy incentives to increase scrap collection in Ukraine

    The metallurgical lobby continues to destroy the scrap collection industry. Extending the export duty of € 58 per ton for another 5 years was not enough, now they propose to completely ban the export of scrap metal. Konstantin Bass, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the UKRMET Group of Companies, expressed his reasoned position on this issue.
